My journey as an underwater photographer began after watching a viral video of kayakers in Alaskan waters. As they paddled, the unmistakable dorsal fin of an adult male orca pierced the surface just meters away from their boats. In that moment, I could only imagine the awe and excitement of being so close to such a powerful creature in its natural habitat. I immediately felt a sense of adventure and made a promise to myself: I would cast aside any fears or doubts and begin seeking my own encounters with the ocean’s most incredible animals.

Equipped with an entry level action camera, I quickly fell in love with the process of capturing and sharing my underwater experiences. After a year of continuous diving and shooting, I realised I had found my true calling. I invested in my first professional camera and underwater housing, marking a new chapter in my journey. Since then, my life has been shaped by weather forecasts, ocean currents, and migratory patterns, as I strive to tilt the odds in my favour and capture powerful, unforgettable images.

Over the years, my focus has shifted exclusively to the ocean's megafauna—sea turtles, rays, sharks, and whales. As my work gained recognition, I had the privilege of publishing my images and the stories behind them, both in within Australia and internationally, in print and online mediums. In 2023, I founded Wild Narrative to showcase my best underwater images, share the stories behind each encounter, and provide valuable tips and advice for aspiring wildlife photographers.

What excites me most about exploring the ocean is the element of unpredictability—you never know what you’ll encounter. Even the dive sites I visit nearly every week continue to surprise me with unique and captivating moments. Sometimes it’s something subtle, like observing a particular species displaying unusual behaviour. Other times, I’m lucky enough to witness something truly extraordinary, such as a dramatic act of predation. The beauty lies in that uncertainty, and the real joy comes from the patience, anticipation, and often endurance it takes to capture something truly special.

Every time I dive, I’m overcome with a mix of calm, wonder, and excitement. Whether it’s a sea turtle gracefully ascending for its first breath of the day or a shiver of sharks darting in and out of sight in deep blue waters, the underwater world never ceases to amaze. My goal is to seek out and document the most incredible natural encounters, capturing the pinnacle of each fleeting moment to share with you.
